From Boardroom to Brushstrokes: How I Found My Joy in Bob Ross® Painting Classes (And Why You’ll Love It Too!)

Hi, I’m Jen—artist and firm believer that it’s never too late (or too early) to pick up a paintbrush.

Art isn’t just a hobby for me. It’s part of who I am. As a multi-faceted artist, I am always exploring new mediums including embroidery landscapes, beaded jewelery, traditional quilting, and art quilts. From 2003-2010, I owned a professional photography business! But it wasn’t until I discovered oil painting in the alla prima style in 2021—what Bob Ross fans know as wet-on-wet—that everything just… clicked.

In 2024, I earned my Certified Ross Instructor® (CRI) designation and now I teach Bob Ross® painting classes once a month at Ethan’s Gallery & Studio in the heart of Olde Town Arvada. And let me tell you, there’s nothing more rewarding than watching someone walk in nervous and walk out with their very own painting that they are proud to hang on the wall.

You don’t need any experience...just a willingness to try something new and a few hours to let joy surprise you.

When I’m not painting or exploring new art mediums, you’ll find me in my home studio in Golden, Colorado, hanging out with my husband Will and our pup Zoe, leading Bible studies with amazing women, or heading up marketing for a commercial real estate firm. (Yes, artists can wear business pants too!)

I’m endlessly inspired by God’s creation—and I want to help you capture that beauty on canvas, even if you’ve never painted before.
